How to Make a Strong Bad Halloween Costume

For Halloween this year, the members of the Boardwalk
decided to go as Homestar Runner characters. Most people know who Homestar Runner
is, but in case you've been living under a rock for the past few years, check

How to make a Strong Bad costume.

Start with the mask. Essentially, you're paper macheting the
mask and painting it. You will need the following:

1 balloon

Flour & water for the paste

Newspaper cut into strips

Acrylic paint - Red, Blue, White and Black

Something green but clear. I used a green plastic cup.

Use a balloon, or in this case, a condom, cause Gary had a bunch.

Get your roommate (Gary) to blow it up.

Mix some flour and water into a paste. Make it a little thinner
than oatmeal.

Cut some newspaper into strips. In this case, I used newspapers
containing police reports from Penn State Football players. Don't worry! I had
plenty of newspaper left over!

Dip these newspaper pieces into the paste and cover half of the
side.

Keep putting the pieces on until you have a reasonable thick
layer of newspaper.

Let the newspaper dry for a while and pop the balloon.

Make sure the mask is thoroughly dry. Use a fan to hasten the
process.

Next draw the features of Strong Bad on the mask using a pen
or pencil. Use a picture to ease the process!

Use an Exact-O knife to cut out eyes and a mouth.

Prepare the mask for painting. Use an acrylic paint. You will
need blue, red, black and white.

Paint the blue diamond between his eyes.

Paint the white line above his eyes.

Paint his black mask.

And finally Paint the red part of the mask. Let it dry for 1 hour and paint
a second coat.

Cut out a piece of green plastic cup for the eyes. Tape them
in place.

Make a nose holder out of foam. Stack a few pieces on top of
eachother like steps and tape in in the mask. The nose holder will keep the
mask from falling.

Add boxing gloves and your favorite beverage and you are ready
to be everyone's favorite jerk! Don't forget your big brother Strong Mad and
everyone's favorite The Cheat, The Cheat!
